13-Year-Old Opens Fire in Belgrade Classroom, Killing Eight

In a shocking and premeditated act of violence, a 13-year-old boy has unleashed a deadly attack within a Belgrade classroom, leaving devastation in his wake. The incident, which has gripped the nation, resulted in the loss of eight innocent lives, including a school security officer, while six students and a teacher sustained injuries.

The perpetrator, identified as Kosta Kecmanovi, had been a student at the institution since 2019. In this heart-wrenching tragedy, he utilized two firearms belonging to his father and also had possession of two petrol explosives. Disturbingly, it has been revealed that Kecmanovi may have meticulously planned the assault for as long as a month, meticulously compiling a list of victims and their respective classes.

Eyewitness accounts shed light on the horrific sequence of events. The assailant’s first targets were the security guard and three girls in the school hallway. Tragically, they fell victim to the attacker’s aggression before he proceeded to open fire on the history class, where a teacher and five students were caught in the hail of bullets.

Despite the gravity of the situation, the shooter, being under the age of 14, cannot be subjected to criminal proceedings. Instead, he will be committed to a psychiatric facility for evaluation and treatment. Meanwhile, authorities have apprehended the parents of the perpetrator for further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As the community grapples with this unimaginable loss, the nation’s Education Minister has declared three days of mourning as a gesture of solidarity and remembrance for the victims and their families.

Amidst the turmoil, a fellow student has shared their perspective on the perpetrator. Describing Kosta Kecmanovi as a reserved individual with a track record of excellent grades, the student also noted that he was not particularly forthcoming or open with others, raising concerns about any underlying issues that may have contributed to the violent outburst.

In the aftermath of this devastating attack, six children and the injured teacher have been rushed to the hospital, where medical professionals are working tirelessly to save the teacher’s life and provide the best possible care for the injured students.
