Russian Rockets Destroy Dnipro Airport in Ukraine

Dnipro airport, destroyed by a Russian attack

Russia has claimed responsibility for destroying Dnipro airport in eastern Ukraine. Officials from the Ukrainian government say they are investigating the incident. It has been nearly a month since Russia began bombing the Ukrainian city and airport. Despite the reports of casualties, the Ukrainian government says it is not responsible for the attack. However, Russia’s recent actions have raised concerns about its intentions.

A new round of Russian attacks against Ukraine have caused the destruction of the airport in the city of Dnipro. The attack also damaged and destroyed infrastructure nearby. Despite the fact that no one was hurt, five emergency services workers were injured. The Russian forces have received mercenaries from abroad and are now bolstering their forces. A similar strike has also left civilians injured in the city of Luhansk.

Thousands of civilians have fled eastern Ukraine as a result of the fighting with Russia. Heavy shelling has been reported in the Donbas region and Ukraine’s defense intelligence chief warned that Russia is re-grouping and is planning an offensive toward Kharkiv. As the battle in the east intensifies, officials in Kiev have urged the evacuation of civilians to avoid further civilian casualties.

Zelenskyy said on Sunday that he would discuss the Ukrainian president’s proposals for new sanctions with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. The two leaders also discussed the possibility of new sanctions against Russia. During the meeting, Zelenskyy reiterated his request for a total ban on Russia’s energy products. The EU has already banned coal from Russia, but not oil.
